FAQ

The Safer Streets Fund is a Home Office fund. It allows forces and local authorities to invest in crime prevention initiatives. Funds were allocated to be spent on community projects in and for Hartcliffe.

We welcome applications from 3 or more residents working together. Also, organisations that can offer support to local residents to lead their projects. We aren't able to accept applications from groups of less than 3 residents or individuals.

We encourage you to use our application form which will provide guidance and clarification. While we have worked hard to make it as simple and short as possible, we understand that online applications may not be everybody's cup of tea. If that's the case and you'd prefer applying offline/in person, you're more than welcome to email us at [email protected] or call/text 07775227285.

Yes. The fund will be open for applications until 5pm on April 11th 2023.

Decisions will be made by community members at an event on May 13th 2023. If your project meets the eligibility criteria, you will be invited to make a presentation to the event explaining to those present what you want to do. Community members will vote at the event on the applications they want to support and we will award funds until the pot is exhausted.

We will invite you to a celebration event to let people know how things went. We want to tell stories about the great things happening in the community so you will be asked to tell us how your project went – we will also want to see some photos.

Absolutely! We will hold drop-in advice sessions to answer questions and/or provide direct support with application:

We'd have loved that but unfortunately, the rules are that all funds must be spent by the end of September 2023.

We aren't able to provide the funds in cash. If you're applying as a group of residents, at least one of you will need to provide bank details to receive payment and take responsibility for providing spend evidence. Access to the fund is only possible through an online platform, where you will be asked to upload receipts and request payments. Let us know if you need help with that.

While we are able to pay some of the grant in advance, payments will be made in stages to safeguard all parties. You will be paid part of your grant and will need to provide spend evidence before the next payment request is approved.

Please still apply if you live in or want to deliver a project outside of this target area – as long as you or your project are in Hartcliffe.
